With this end the player strikes the ball, the tip being approximately 3/10 to 2/5 inches in diameter. The butt-end (held in the hand) is a little over one inch wide, and the cue gradually tapers to a round top, on which a leather tip is glued. The cue, which must not be less than 3 feet long, is usually about 4 feet 10 inches, and consists of a tapering piece of wood, generally ash. This is called the spot ball, or simply spot the other white ball is called plain. One of these white balls is marked with a black spot at each of its two poles or extremities. Each player (there are invariably two only) takes one of the white balls. Today, most balls are made of crystalate, which displaced ivory during the late twenties. The balls, two white and one red, must be equal in size and weight, and measure 2 1/16 / 2 3/32 inches in diameter. The Amateur Billiards Championship originated in 1888, and it is now the chief event of the billiards season, snooker having ousted billiards to a great extent in the professional sphere.īilliards is a game of skill played with three balls and cue, on an 8-legged table having six netted pockets. John Roberts, Junior, dominated the game from about 1870 to well past the turn of the century. He relinquished his title in 1849 to John Roberts, Senior, father of the great John Roberts (Junior), known as the W. The first professional champion of any account was Jonathan Kentfield, who published a book on the game in 1839. The modern form of billiards dates from the early nineteenth century, the first English treatise of a serious character being that of E. References were also made by such famous authors as Ben Jonson, 1637 Evelyn, 1674, and Dr. James I ordered a billiarde bourde in 1605 or thereabouts. In 1634, one of the quaint engravings illustrating the Divine Emblems of Francis Quarles depicts a form of billiards with maces instead of cues. Spenser refers to the game in his Mother Hubbard’s Tales, 1591, and as early as 1576, Mary, Queen of Scots, when a state prisoner, complained of being deprived of her billiard table. Karl Mihkelson, Tallinn University of Technology, EST (63 points total)ģ.The origin of billiards is rather indefinite, and no country can claim to have founded the game as the evidence adduced on the subject is too conflicting to convince.Įarly in the seventeenth century, however, many specific references were made to a rudimentary form of the game and in England, such allusions are plentiful. In order to avoid conflict between the "USB pins" and the "I2C pins" (not used here) the usbconfig.h re-arranges the DATA+ and DATA- pins from the regular ones to a different pair. The input pins are also different than the ones in the post, since I was using code from another project ( NES Mini Controller USB Adapter for attiny85) I wrote some months ago. Some changes need to be done to modify the CPU speed (also fuses!) among with the use of an Oscillator Calibration function. Since I'm using an attiny85 I needed to change a few things in order to make the v-usb library work with it. When you want to stop doing this just stop the macro. Everytime you press ctrl-v a the copied number gets +1 and that new number copied to clipboard for the next paste. If you want to copy from a textbox (in this example textBox1), this is what you need: Clipboard.SetText (textBox1.Text) //To copy your text to your clipboard Clipboard.GetText () //To get your text from your clipboard. The main file is a basic keyboard example (enable interrupts, create report, send report, repeat) from the v-usb documentation (not an expert on this library, but as far as I know it works pretty well!) with the three buttons logic. But The Key is a lot more powerful than that. You can do this using something like Pulovers Macro Creator. If they wanted unlimited access to copy and paste from Stack Overflow, all they needed to do was purchase The Key. To copy from the Command Window Select by holding down the left mouse button and dragging the pointer across what you want to copy Once selected, right click To paste at the insertion point, right click again. Every time someone entered the keyboard command to copy characters from Stack Overflow, we showed them a pop-up warning them they were almost out of free copies. It uses the v-usb library (with the proper hardware hooked up to be detected as a low-speed usb device) and three push buttons for the user. To paste whatever is in the Clipboard at the insertion point: Right Click. At the time, officials teased that it would limit the number of times users could copy and paste code from websites, and that developers would need to buy a special keyboard. On April Fool’s Day last year, Stack Overflow announced a keyboard with only Ctrl, C, and V. Move the cursor to the place where the copied/cut text is to be inserted. Copy M-w or Cut C-w the text from the mark to the current cursor location. This code works with an attiny85 (or probably whatever similar AVR microcontroller once the proper ports, pins, fuses and speeds are changed) and turns the micro into a keyboard with only three buttons: Stack Overflow introduces a new copy/paste keyboard with 'light pollution'. Move to the end of the text to be copied/cut using move-cursor commands. The Stack Overflow April Fool 2021 post was about The Key, a three-keys keyboard that only allows copy and paste operations (classic Stack Overflow joke). The shotgun merely acts as a delivery mechanism for all of these ridiculous damage statistics. While many will see the big shotgun damage and start to salivate, it's actually the Tricker's Anomaly damage that stars in the show. It does, however, vastly change the damage source of the Tricker. That's not his fault most Jund commanders haven't interested me. I personally didn't really give Sek'kuar a hard look until recently. Looking at those legends, it's easy to see how he struggled in his own weight class. Then, when he was reprinted he had to stand against Prossh, Skyraider of Kher. In Coldsnap, our orc general had to compete with the likes of Zur the Enchanter, Arcum Dagsson, and even Darien, King of Kjeldor. Along with this change, our newest underdog is going to explore a color yet to be seen in the series: black. I'm sorry to have misled you with my articles' bias. To those who don't know me personally, blue actually isn't my favorite color. The bell has rung, and we're back in the ring with this installment of the Underdog's Corner! One thing I noticed after the first three articles is that all the commanders so far contained blue. Each article makes the argument for a single commander that deserves more play, as well as highlighting key cards and synergies. This article is Round 4 of the Underdog’s Corner, a series spotlighting various lesser-used commanders and their place in the format. While whirling 2 cups of roasted almonds into butter required shaking the jar a few times, it still produced almond butter in just three minutes. One minute of blending in the Nutribullet yielded an evenly creamy smoothie with well-combined chia seeds, greens and ice. (The simple design also makes it easy to clean you can toss the blending jars into the dishwasher.) Fill the jar, screw on the lid, flip the sealed jar onto the base and press down to pulse or twist to blend. There are just three components: the motor/base, the blending jar and the lid (which is also the blade). We especially appreciated how easy and intuitive the Nutribullet is to use. On our three tests, it performed almost as strongly as the Vitamix, which is twice its size and costs much more. If you reach for a blender a couple of times a week to prep food for one or two people, you’ll be well served by the Nutribullet Pro 900. This personal-sized blender is powerful, easy to clean and built for most daily tasks. Overall, the Fresh and Furious combines even blending, easy scrapability and a sleek design for a nice price. Best of all, the pitcher features an unusual rounded bottom that lets you easily slide a silicone spatula around the blade (and ensures there are no corners for ingredients to hide in). A simple timer counts either up (when using one of the five power-level buttons) or down (when using a preset function). It also has smart design features, including a cord that wraps neatly inside the machine’s base when not in use and a pull ring that makes the lid easy to remove. Thanks to its good looks and small footprint (one of the most compact bases of any blender we considered), it could easily sit out on the counter. The Fresh and Furious is arguably the nicest-looking blender we evaluated, sleek and streamlined, with a chrome base and sturdy, elegant pitcher. At 50 ounces, its pitcher can comfortably zip up four servings of smoothie or frosty drink, which it did easily in our tests, with particularly even ice crystals in the smoothie and frozen paloma slush.
